Buying and selling safely

Before you buy

Confirm the seller’s identity and contact details. Check the exact product, condition, specifications and delivery costs. For equipment, confirm load ratings and suitability with the supplier before use.

Agree on clear terms

Keep a record of the agreed price, quantity, warranty if offered and collection or delivery arrangements. Inspect goods when practical. Never share account passwords or bank verification codes.

When you sell

Use accurate photographs and descriptions. State any faults and keep availability up to date. Publish only items you own or are authorised to sell.
